Tasting Notes: This Late Bottled Vintage shows brooding black cherry fruit with a huge cedary core. A full-bodied wine with fine dark colour, ripe and mouth-filling fruit and a sweet finish.
Food Pairings: This port is really best enjoyed with a good strong cheese board. Think mature hard cheeses and salty blues. Rich and flavoursome to match the intense flavours of the port.
Winemaking Notes: Old Vine Blend, 19.5% ABV, from Douro, Portugal
About the Winemaker: Established in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest and most famous estates in the Douro Valley – producing both still and port wines. This eighteenth-century Douro wine estate is actually one of the most modern-looking in Portugal. Although the team uses the traditional panoply of indigenous grapes, its methods are bang up-to-date and the results are nothing short of sensational.
