Flavour Profile: Smelly at first but sweet flavour profile. You’ll find a palette that’s a little fruity – gooey and soft – with a sweetness that contrasts to the nose. The braver you are the riper we recommend you go!
Drink Pairing: With a cheese of its stature we recommend you pair this flavour-filled number with a lighter wine such as a Chardonnay or Pinot Noir
About the Maker: Époisses cheese is an unpasteurized cow’s milk cheese produced by Jacques Hennart in the village of Époisses in Burgundy France. This cheese is steeped in history having first been made by monks in the Abbaye de Citeaux, in Burgundy, France in the 1600’s.
How to Enjoy: Époisses cheese is customarily and widely enjoyed with freshly baked French baguettes, or raisin bread, especially when dipped into a room temperature! This is a soft cheese round, so it’s best to remove from the fridge at least one hour before intending to eat!
