Flavour Profile: A tangy and intense farmhouse cheddar, with a distinct fresh citrus bite! The Keen Family use milk from their own herd of British Friesian cows. The truckles are clothbound and matured for 12 months, giving a rich creamy flavour with a hint of citrus on the finish. This batch of Keens has been matured an extra 6 months to impart an even saltier tang.
Drink Pairing: Keens Extra Mature Cheddar is best served with a chilled pint of British or American IPA. It is also fantastic with a medium bodied red like a Pinot Noir, or a dry white like Chardonnay.
About the Maker: The Keen family have been making Unpasteurised Keens Cheddar since they moved to Moorhayes Farm in 1899. Five generations later they are still proud to be producing world famous, award winning British Cheddar Cheese.
How to Enjoy: Great in a Ploughmans or a proper cheese and pickle sandwich with crusty bread.
