Tasting Notes: A densely flavoured wine with hints of prunes and chocolate-covered black cherry combined with fresh herbs, it is simply quite delicious. On the palette, you’ll be getting notes of cocoa, coffee and vanilla on the long and savoury finish.
Winemaking Notes: Primitivo, 14.5% ABV, from Puglia Italy
Food Pairings: The perfect partner with red meat, game and savoury first courses.
About the Winemaker: San Marzano is a small village in the centre of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC region. In 1962 the DOC appellation did not yet exist, and the Primitivo di Manduria was far from becoming a cult wine for wine lovers. Even so, 19 winemakers came together to follow a dream and founded Cantine San Marzano. And thank goodness they did! They now create a vast range of certified wines that are some of the best in the biz.
