  • Product Description

    Named after the cheese-makers at the Village Maid Dairy, they think it’s worthy to bear their own name, we agree. Anne spent 10 years working at the National Institute for Research in Dairying before setting up the dairy. The pair spent time yachting in the interim, furthering their knowledge of cheeses around the world, particularly being taken by the ewe’s milk cheeses of Sardinia. Whilst we could talk about Wigmore for as long as you’ll listen, cheese guru Juliet Harbutt said quite eloquently “taste sensation of wild flowers, burnt caramel, macadamia nuts and roast lamb”.

Because of the fruity mellow flavours of Wigmore cheese it actually works well as both a sweet aperitif, and coupled with pear segments and walnuts as a sweet dessert. It’s also well complimented by a Cabernet Merlot.
